A year ago sales of athleisure wear totaled £2.5billion throughout the uk alone. Even fashion bible Vogue has due to the style its seal of approval, commenting recently: ‘Be it on the school run, within the line for morning coffee, spanning a business lunch, or even drinks, performancewear as everydaywear for females of every age group has become de rigueur.’
In reaction several high-street and internet based retailers have released athleisure lines, with style and cut becoming more and more popular to customers. According to the new report, 59 per cent of women say they choose garments for style and comfort, instead of how well they will likely endure a work-out.
